Many of my business friends spend time to network and get more business. I do find new friends from many of those activities.
However, I do choose the program or event accordingly. Every week (in fact almost every other day) I will receive invitations to attend seminars, talks, workshops and also business networking session.
Therefore, the best choice for that particular time will depend on my priority and needs of the business. Well, I can not be too diversified. (*_*)
My friends and even my staff did ask me on how I could still manage to write in blogs regularly.
Well, let me share some secrets:
1. I always write even when I am offline.
People thought that I will be writing only when I am online and in front of my laptop facing my blog pages.
The truth is, most written shared experienced is prepared on regular basis on an ordinary WORD application.
Normally 1 day later, I will edit and elaborate more on the points.
When the time comes, which normally within the week, I will post them accordingly by schedule to be shared with others. Most of the time, it will be a story based on my experience on that particular week.
2. I always keep small titles, collect them and write later.
Small titles could be a question from a friend, a message from my staff, a phone call from my mother or a 5 minute meeting with a stranger!
The experience that viewed from a different angle will generate an idea of sharing on your emotions and perspective on the said situation.
For example, I receive a comments about HOMEWORK from one of my Facebook friend. Well, that become my story.
The idea of writing is to share experience, information and personal views on any particular matters or issues that we choose.
Your sharing must always come from your heart.
3. I make an appointment with my blogs and Facebook pages.
I always have specific time to work on my sharing blogs – night which starts between 8.00pm-6am. I will meet my blog within that hour depending on my day schedule. If the day is so tiring, I will start later after taking a ‘good night’ sleep.
I need the idea of sharing to flow smoothly and it should be able to touch others. Well, it does need some practice too and I am still learning.
4. I close my Facebook tabs, so I can not click it or open Facebook page while I am writing.
Yes, close Facebook page and tab so you can focus better in putting your ideas in written. I do aware that we tend to spend so long on Facebook as we start clicking and scrolling on our friends updates.
At my workstation (in front of my laptop), I will normally allocate 15 minutes for checking other updates and 30 minutes to update mine and the pages.
With my mobile device, I will normally check emails and Facebook update every half an hour as this is the main application where I get myself connected.
For marketing, CRM and branding, it might took as long as 45 minutes.
5. I trusted my friends in my team.
I believe that the current business that I am occupied with, is a shared effort. This need to be done by sharing and giving ample opportunity for others. With that, we will be able to be successful together and celebrate it with other people too.
