Many of my friends are people in business.
Some own their business while some managing a business for others.
Regardless of the status and the job that they are responsible for, they are all in business. I even categorise mothers who work at home, as a business woman too!
What kind of business do exactly we do?
Basically, we solve other people’s problems.
It could be our family member’s issues.
It could be our supervisor’s situations.
It could be our staff’s matters.
It could be our community’s concerns.
But, in normal terms, business relate to activities which generate income. Revenue.
It depends to whom do you speak to and with.
In a business group, one will always speak and talk in view of a business.
I shared this, in one of the talk session with a group of staff in a company.
“To be kind, generous, good to others, have intention for the sake of Allah, is always become our responsibility and job, even when we are NOT in business.
Therefore, don’t get me wrong if I don’t say all those during any business presentation and talk.”
Even when we are NOT in business:
+ We seek guidance from others.
+ We read books.
+ Wa pray to Allah.
+ We do made mistakes.
+ We do have financial issues.
+ We do need to mange our emotions.
+ We must respect the elders.
+ …and the list go on.
But, when we ARE IN business, there are additional responsibilities waiting ahead:
+ Make money.
+ Pay all expenses related to business operation.
+ Pay tax.
+ Manage the company well.
+ …and the list go on.
I always remind myself, and friends in business (who are mostly Muslim):
Let us do the best of what we can do.
Have faith. The rest, leave it to Allah.
Happy Sunday everyone!
