Relationship: Employee- Employer and Contract for Service

It could be disheartening when you realized that you work hard but not being recognized accordingly. Recognition may come in the form of what you get for what you do or any kind of appreciation that may comes with it.

Although many say that we should not be expecting in return of what you do, that will not applied in your career and scope of work at a work place. As much as you can go the extra miles, you must face the reality of being in need to commit with the life that you have to sustain and support.

You may realize when you work in any organization there are rules and regulations that you will need to follow. There are certain frameworks, which you need to be part in to ensure that you deliver what should be delivered in return of your pay.

Somehow, some of you may think that you have done your best but not the people in your organization. Some may find that they are not doing the best but in actual fact, they have over delivered in what they do.

In is very different when you become an employee which is in contract of service and when you are not. You may be on contract for service terms and agreement but mistreated as an employee as in contract of service. You may need to be clear and somehow the people in the organization must be in the same understanding. 

Most of the time, the non-employees are being chosen to do most of the work when they are competent while a company enjoy the benefit of not to be tied up with employer regulations. This is what makes most non-employees who works on contract for service basis has much more freedom in the decision that they make for their work. While on the other hand, most of the time, employers are paying slightly higher for such contract for service.

In the case of SMEs, most employers have trapped in the misunderstanding of applying the concept of  ‘team’ and ‘teamwork’ as relationship as in employee-employer whilst the situation is not. 

If your organization has a mixture of hiring employees and also engaging in contract for service, your executives and managers must be clear on the rules and terms of work agreed as per standard compliance. Though it may sounds good to leverage, but one must be treat fairly.
